Applied Superconductor Awarded An Allocation of £1.0m Of Grant Funding

Applied Superconductor Sales and Marketing Director Chris Waller and Chief Executive Herbert Piereder

Applied Superconductor have been awarded an allocation of £1.0m of grant funding following round three of the Regional Growth Fund bidding process. The Department of Business, Innovation and Skills are making the relevant announcement today.

Our bid centres around three aspects of Applied Superconductor’s development:

1) The commercialisation and development of the inductive fault current limiting technology recently purchased from Zenergy Plc (including the enhancement of facilities in Blyth)

2) Accelerating the move from the provision of medium voltage to both medium and high voltage FCL solutions

3) Development of high voltage, direct current circuit breakers based upon FCL technology
